This is the second in-person-Substack-friends discussion I've seen this week. It feels like one of those Jumanji-style movies where we're all being plucked out of one reality into another one. And I'm here for it.
All the beautiful people in one place, wow! This is SO AMAZING, I wish I could've been there and am so glad you got to go. Yay you for moving across the country!!
I have had the honor of meeting two of my Substack friends in real life and it is as amazing as you describe.
I haven't met any Substackers (yet!) since I've only been writing on here since last September, but I have met tons of folks through my original blog, and it's been so rewarding and wonderful to meet all those like-minded bloggers and readers. I cherish the friendships I've made through my blog.
How fun for you all to meet up? I try to read as many 'Stacks as I can (and I nearly always heart or comment - it's only polite!), and I'm usually a few days behind.
Tall blonde? That's the one I was standing on my tippy toes for! 😜😜 Loved seeing you and spending an evening with all those wonderful women surrounded by books about luuuuurrrrvvve. 💜💜💜💜💜
I am so happy that this was such a fantastic night for all! I was really sad to miss out, but was coming off a very busy stretch with a friend in from CA (I AM NOT 34 ANYMORE YOU KNOW!!) Already can't wait for the next one! X!
This is the definition of charming.
Thx. 🥰🙏
So wonderful you got to meet some of your Substack buddies. How cool.
Also, I must say, I loved that you called out the tit for tat nature that often develops on here. :)
Right? Quid pro quo reading.
Love seeing these online friendships transfer over to the real world! I've yet to meet any of my favorite Substack friends. Hopefully soon!
🥰🙏

👏👏🥰🙏
Would love to connect in person with other Substack writers in Chicago area!
There are probably many!

Nice!
Thx for being here. 🥰👏🙏
“We have to get our own writing done. Or do we?” Haha!
So great you all got together IRL. I always find I love substackers in person even more than I love their newsletter personas!
Yes! We get the whole person. Not just words. 👏
Gah!!! I’m so jealous. I wanted to beam myself to that event so badly!!!! You all are such beauties.
Any plans to visit??
Yes actually! I’ll be in Boston this October for my book tour!
I’ll be there to support you and get my copy signed! Can’t wait!
Omg, I can’t wait to connect in person!

So fun! 👏👏👏
Hey Meg, didnt you use to write on Medium?
I've run into a few others like me who used to write there. (me not as much as others but still).
Hi Kim!
No, I was never on Medium. Substack is the first place I've really hung out as a writer. 😊
Meg is running Fictionistas and has two Substacks. Don’t know if she was on Medium.
Love this analogy! I'm so happy you got a chance to meet your peeps!
🥰👏🙏
I’m jealous, and happy for you all!
Come visit.
Careful what you wish for CK 🤣. That being said, we like visiting that way, so you never know!!

I hear ya.
Meg is much taller in person than in her Substack. Either that or you’ve shrunk.
I think she was on her toes in order to fit in the pic.
100% I was. 😂
Also, how tall am I in my Substack, Tom?? 😏
Haha.
I love all of this but am seriously shocked that the O is gone and that I never noticed!
Right? Cup Noodles sounds like bad grammar.
Honestly, it's even worse than Carl's Jr.!
Oh how I wish I could've been there! (And please, Cup Noodles people, bring back the "O"!) Speaking of "O," Ofifoto truly is a fabulous reader!
Thank you. I'm pretty fussy. Only the best will do.
Couldn't agree more. Ofifoto is possibly one of THE most thoughtful souls - in 'the real world' too. 😄
🥰👏
