"Mr. How-will-we-pay-the-mortgage?" and "Mrs. We’ll-figure-it-out" do make a great team. When one falls, the other lifts them up. It's a great balance.
Very sweet. Very funny. Swoop away! I just wrote up my Father’s Day post in my substack The Conundrummer. Looking to find some humor writers on this platform.
Such a great read! This flowed so well, the dialogue carried the piece along and gave so much depth into the dynamics of you and your husbands relationship. My partner plays much the same role as you do in our relationship, in that she is always the one reassuring me “we’ll work out it out”. :)
What a beautiful tribute to your hubby! My story is that my husband was willing to honor my desire to have a home birth with our first child. It was a brave and foolish decision but he supported my wishes. After twelve hours of back labor, a sick midwife and the realization that I wasn't the hippie, calm, earth mama I thought I was, we went to the hospital to the back up doctor. Another sixteen hours later, my son was born healthy, with a roomful of help and support. My husband never made me feel badly about wanting a home birth. Nor did he point out the potential dangers of that choice afterwards. He simply let me have my experience without judgment.
I went in for my first ultrasound while carrying my older daughter because I was having intense pains in my side. The ultrasound revealed the reason -- several cysts, like black bubbles on the screen. My husband got nauseous and WALKED OUT.
Oh my god, I love this so much. My wife and your husband are soooo similar, and I'm just like you. I was really hoping for twins, but every time I said it, my wife broke out into a sweat. "It would be amazing," I'd say. "One and done!" Bing bang boom, as you said. "BUT THE RISKS," my physician wife would cry.
Needless to say, the first ultrasound was very stressful for her. Sadly (for me), there was only one little dude in there. Maybe next time??
Look at you with your blonde hair! I was laughing reading this, that Jeffrey needs to research his pants. That sounds SOOOO familiar🤣. Thanks for sharing these awesome family pics.
A beautiful family, made with love and swoopage!

Thx, Michael. 🙏 Always good to have the voice of reason and the unreason. They meet in the middle.
Exactly :)
What a lovely post. Isn’t it amazing to find the right person to spend your life with?
Indeed. Hope we hear more about Mrs. Bacon in your essays.

Love a man who doesn’t judge or say I told you so. Thx for sharing. 🙏

I was like, I'm having a baby with this guy?!
But it's all worked out. She's 19 now.
Happy Father’s Day to Jeff! He’s a great dad, swooper, figure outer, etc. Thanks for the great essay!
Happy Father’s Day!
I love this story. And I always get so excited about twins. Cute pics!
