OMG... I just love SEEING you! And WISH I could have been there (even though I would have been the sole mute) How much fun are those earrings! This so reminds me of the early internet... but with much more polished tech! So much joy 😂.

Early internet! Haha. I have no idea about lighting or how to cut and edit.

I know major showrunners who are the same, but they're still here making little bits and bobs and it's so imperfectly delightful.

Ok. Who is adorbs in videos?? I say YOU! What a fun idea.

Expand full comment

Hehe. The Adorbs Club.

So if you flip those OK earrings around they'd be a KO or Knock Out. It does look like you got a little punchy!

Loved your pre and post videos... and the pic of the Substackians!

KO! Love it. Thx for watching. ❤️🙏

Haha! Thank you for your video replay of the event. I'll bring my portable giant Cone of Silence to the next Meetup. Substackians deserve to have their words heard, am I right?!

Expand full comment

Yes! Next time we should reserve a room at a library.

Bwahaha! Oh my god, it was loud in there. Thank you for this fun and funny reminder of a wonderful evening.

And I could totally tell you showered. 🤣

Also, I meant to tell you while we were there that I noticed and liked your OK earrrings. 🔥

Haha. Thank you! ❤️🙏🥰

This is so funny! I appreciated the inside peek at figuring out what to wear and that you like stuff with words on them! I do too.

I was literally laughing out loud watching the after meetup! So well done, bravo Carissa. I wish I would’ve been there and I will be looking up these Substack, especially the Hogs and Frogs one🤣!

So glad you enjoyed. 🙏❤️🥰

Oh! Hello all. I see you tagged me. I didn’t make it to this one, but I hope I will manage to get myself out to meet you all another time ❤️

Expand full comment

Would love to meet you.

I recently met a fellow Substacker in person too! It’s great to have writing friends!

Expand full comment

This sounds like so much fun!

Your video was so funny! Substack meetups aren’t really like that of course, but yes they are a little like that!

Thx for watching. By the end, my voice was hoarse plus I have a node on my vocal cord but it was worth it. I'm still kvelling.

Expand full comment

I didn’t know “kvell,” I only knew “kvetch” and then just a little. But I love obscure words, or really just words that most people don’t use much ... they feel so flexible. I most likely my markings on shirts to be really obscure, so that people look at them and cock their head: “huh?” And boy, your characterization of trying to hear each other was right on. I have this vague memory that someone told me they had appeared in two Seinfeld episodes! Can you believe it? I’d do this again in an instant ... just somewhere quieter.

Haha! Kvetch is a good one. My mom called me a kvetch all too often when I was a teen. Rightly so.

A vague idiom on a t-shirt-- the inside joke fashion. It's like the personalized license plate you can't figure out.

My 15 minutes-- Seinfeld.

I know that libraries have private, reservable rooms. 😉

Wait, you were in Seinfeld episodes. I missed that! How cool.

Guilty.

Haha. Looking forward to it!

Expand full comment

I's so sorry I missed it. Next time!

The meetup that is, not the colonoscopy!

Expand full comment

Haha. Although the day of the colonoscopy offers much needed rest and pampering time from hubby.

“I showered but it took an hour!” 😂😂😂 I can’t wait for the next meet-up. I’ll start warming up my voice.

Expand full comment

Haha. Vocal warm ups before loud restaurants and parties necessary.

Now I WANT to write about hogs and frogs!

Expand full comment

We could make a hogs and frogs Substack and make us Seattle writers coauthors--taking turns doing posts! 😆

Expand full comment

Yes! Or it could be the name of our meet ups. Hehe.

Expand full comment

Yes, this seems better. 🤣

Haha! Please do.
